How Amplop differs
Five things
Section titled “Five things”- Money split into envelopes on arrival. Each allowance is divided by the student’s own percentages the moment it arrives, so the month is planned before the first purchase.
- Weekly release. Food, Transport, Study and Everyday open in four shares, one each Monday, so week four is funded before week one begins.
- The contract itself deciding each card payment. The kind of shop picks the envelope and the contract approves or declines in one transaction; the server cannot spend money the rules have not released.
- A trusted person who can open Emergency but cannot block it. They can say yes sooner; if they do not answer, the money opens by itself after 48 hours.
- A parent who sees totals, not shops. The parent sees what is left in each envelope and a few alerts, never where the money was spent.
Design principle
Section titled “Design principle”No new vocabulary. Parents and students should not need new words to send or spend an allowance. So sign-in is a passkey, with no recovery phrase. The user never sees or pays a network fee. There is no wallet prompt. The token’s name appears only in the small detail panel beside a transaction proof.
