The examples use Raka, a student in Amsterdam, and Mama, his trusted person in Jakarta.

Tap Create a passkey. Your phone asks for your fingerprint, face or screen lock; there is no password and no recovery phrase. Then type your name and set your envelopes.

Every allowance is split into five envelopes by percentage: Food, Transport, Study, Everyday and Emergency. The percentages are whole numbers in steps of 5 and add up to 100. Any cents left over from rounding go to Everyday (R4). The default is Food 40%, Transport 15%, Study 15%, Everyday 20% and Emergency 10%.

Food, Transport, Study and Everyday each open in four equal shares: the first when the allowance arrives, the next three on the following three Mondays at 00:00 UTC. Any leftover cents go into the last share (R5). Money you do not spend stays in its envelope and carries over (R6). The Emergency share arrives whole and locked (R7). A second allowance gets its own four shares, and each envelope shows the sum of everything released so far (R8).

The home screen shows what is available this week, a bar with a dark line for where you should be today, and the next release date. Tap an envelope for its release schedule and this week’s spending.

The kind of shop picks the envelope (R9):

Envelope Shops
Food groceries, restaurants, fast food and canteens
Transport public transport, taxis and ride-hailing, fuel
Study stationery, printing and copying, schools and courses
Everyday bookshops, cinemas, and every other kind of shop
Never gambling

If the matching envelope has enough, it pays. If not, and Everyday has enough for the whole amount, Everyday pays. Otherwise the purchase is declined; a purchase is never split across envelopes (R10). Emergency never pays a shop directly (R11). Gambling is always declined, no money moves, and your trusted person sees only the category (R12).

An approved purchase is first held in its envelope. The shop collects up to the held amount within 7 days; if it does not, the hold goes back to the same envelope. A refund returns to the envelope that paid (R13). Prices in euros are turned into dollars at a sample rate when the purchase is approved (R14).

A purchase paid from Everyday can be moved to Food, Transport or Study, once, within 7 days, if that envelope has enough. Everyday gets the amount back, and that kind of shop uses the new envelope from then on (R15). Open the purchase in Activity and choose Move to another envelope.

Open Emergency, enter an amount up to the locked balance and write a reason (up to 280 characters). One request can be open at a time, and you can cancel it (R16). Your trusted person reads the reason and can approve, which opens it at once; they cannot refuse. If nobody approves, it opens 48 hours after you asked (R17). Opened money moves to Everyday and can be spent straight away; the rest stays locked (R18). With no trusted person, the request simply waits 48 hours (R19).

  • Envelope split. A new split takes effect 48 hours after you save it, and only for allowances that arrive after that. Money already in envelopes is not re-divided. Before your first allowance, a new split applies at once (R21).
  • Emergency lock. Switching it off takes 48 hours. After that the whole Emergency balance moves to Everyday and later Emergency shares arrive unlocked (R20).
  • Trusted person. An invite link works once and expires after 7 days. The first trusted person is linked at once; replacing or removing one takes 48 hours (R22).
  • Recovery. If you lose your passkey, open Lost your phone? Recover your account on a new phone, create a new passkey and send the recovery link to your trusted person. After they approve there is a 48-hour wait, then the account moves to the new passkey (R23).
  • Cancel a change. Every waiting change (R20 to R23) shows a countdown and a Cancel button until its wait ends (R24).

Open the link Raka sent on WhatsApp and tap Accept and create a passkey. That makes your own passkey; no password.

On your home screen tap Send allowance, enter an amount in rupiah between Rp100.000 and Rp50.000.000, and continue. You get a BCA virtual account number to pay from your banking app. The amount in dollars uses the sample rate shown on the screen ($1 = Rp16.500), and the fee is Rp0. Once the payment arrives, the money is split into Raka’s envelopes and you see Allowance sent with its transaction proof.

For each envelope you see the total left: what is available plus what is not released yet. You never see a shop or a list of purchases (R25). Alerts appear in the app when Emergency is requested, a blocked purchase is declined (category only), an envelope falls under 20% of this week’s share, a purchase is moved (envelope names only), a rule change is saved, or a recovery is approved (R26).

When Raka asks, the request appears first on your home screen. Tap it to read the reason and tap Approve with passkey. You can open it sooner, but you cannot block it; it opens by itself after 48 hours.

If Raka loses his phone, he sends you a recovery link. Only approve if you have spoken to him yourself: whoever holds the new passkey will control his envelopes. After you approve there is a 48-hour wait, and Raka can cancel it from the old phone if it was not him.
